Electrical equipment
 
The general electric supply cable goes through the concrete base (inside a protective tube) to the centre of the crane. It has three phases, an earth and a Neutral.

The electrical equipment for power and control consists of the following:

- Manual sequencing box with differential relay for safety at the base of the crane and the entry point of the general electricity supply.

- 5-ring slip-ring assembly (two phase + neutral + earth) on the top of the turret protected by a cover. It allows the boom to turn continuously in either direction.

- Protective IP55 PVC electric equipment box containing the inverse connectors, fuses, transformers for control currents, connected to the terminal. It is located on the back of the turret.

- Locked box containing the control pad with a lead of approx. 5m, mounted on the side of the ladder at a height of approx. 1.5m above the quay.

- The electrical equipment complies with low voltage standards and UNE-EN 60204-1 on electrical safety.

There are ways of facilitating maintenance and repair work, and safe access to all mechanisms.

There are two types of access system:

SIMPLE ACCESS:

A vertical ladder with a safety cage is fixed to the turret, allowing access to the elevation and turning mechanisms as well as the electrical equipment.

FULL ACCESS:

The following elements are provided, as well as a ladder with a safety cage:

- Rear platform for hoist inspection.

- Middle platform for inspecting the pulley guide, turning bearing and slip-ring assembly.

- Boom end platform with an attached ladder for inspection of pulleys and the bolt that fixes the cable branch.

All ladders and platforms are made with a galvanised, non-slip metal frame deck and are protected by safety cages and guardrails.

Surface protection and paint treatment

With SA 2 ½ sand.
The entire structure is cleaned with compressed air.

Primer coat
60 micron coat
Hempadur Zinc Primer 15360. Two-component, polyamide-cured epoxy primer with high zinc powder content.
The whole surface is then pressure washed with soapy water.

Base coat
Two 100 micron thick base coats.
Hempadur Hi-Build 45200. Two-component, thick coat polyamide-cured epoxy paint.

Top coat
Two 30 micron top coats.
Hempel’s Polynamel 55100. Two-component polyurethane gloss enamel with aliphatic isocyanate base.

 
 
Accessories
 

AccessoriesThe crane is supplied with a specially-designed frame for moving boats, as well as two slings of appropriate width and length to support the weight of boats and the shape of their hulls.

The frame has a main triangular frame and two secondary structures, one at each end, creating an ‘H’ shape.

Also, depending on the size of boat, the frame can be positioned with the core parallel to the keel.

The frame’s special shape allows it to move sailboats with keels by placing the two heads parallel to the sides and the core perpendicular to the keel, which allows the mast to be freed. Also, depending on the size of the boat, the frame can be used with the core running parallel with the keel.
